Time Zones

To support facilities that cross global time zones, Time Zones can be created in MRI Evolution.

The list of Time Zones are maintained here.

System Administration > System Preferences > Region & Language > Time Zones

The link will open the Time Zones grid. It is a grid view which can be searched, sorted and customised as normal.

To add a new Time Zone click New , to edit an existing Time Zone click Edit . A pop up window will appear which will allow the creation or amendment of a Time Zone.

Field Name	Description
Short Name	The short name for the Time Zone.
Description	The description of the Time Zone.
Time Zone	From the drop down select the Time Zone
Visible	Check the box to make the Time Zone visible.

Complete the fields and click Save and Close .

Time Zone Assignment

Time zones can be assigned to the following MRI Evolution areas:

• Database
• Account
• Building
• Resource
• Task

The order in which elements such as Tasks and Room Bookings will accrue a Time Zone is: Database > Account > Building

Database Time Zone

A Time Zone assigned at the Database level is applicable to all records.

Non-database time zone

When a Time Zone is not applied at database level, all records will assume the Time Zone of its related entity:

• Account (e.g. Account who logged the Task)
• Building (e.g. Building where the Task is located)
• Resource Time Zone is used for accurate time management in the Resource Planner
• Task refers simply to when a Tasks Time Zone has been manually entered when the Task was created.

Date / time fields within areas of MRI Evolution where a time zone is not applied at record level are automatically set to the time zone of the User Account.
